Default Do You Remember (for the old players)

I had never seen this topic brought up, and it has been on my mind for awhile.

Do you remember when you had to use skill points to change your build? I think I got Guild Wars a month or two after it came out, and I started playing when one still had to use skill points to change one's build, and thankfully they removed that hindrance soon after.

Can you imagine what Guild Wars would have been like if they had not removed that poor design choice? If people complain about pvxwikia and cookie-cutter builds, it would have been that and then some. That is what I hated about Diablo 2. Particularly if you wanted a character able to do Hell runs, you needed to know the skills you were going to choose and carefully build your character, because if you chose a skill you did not need, you could not change anything (I hope they do not do that with Diablo 3).

Anyways, just thought I would throw that out there.

yes, that's why I have 2 necros -- one was going to be N/Me echo SS, the other was N/Mo minion master.

Changing servers from Europe to US. How I laughed when people got stuck

I think I may have just missed the whole use a skill point to change build thing.. unless you mean attribute refund points? Attribute refunds had their advantages though, you could change your attributes while in an explorable area.. came in handy once when I forgot to set my attributes right and someone complained that I only healed for about 30 health.

Also Korea had favour, always.

He, I remember that. Was fun, because most of my guild changed from the US servers to the Euro servers just because every time they came online it seemed as if Europen guilds were winning the halls which also meant that you could only get into the UW or FoW by actually playing on Euro Servers... this was of course before UW and FoW Scrolls were added.

Also for the thread... no Heroes and no HM...

You were thought to be elite if you could manage Thunderhead keep with bonus.... also the thereoff ensuing Monk Strike because all the Monks were sick of being raged at due to leeroying players needing heals.

Ah, the good old days

I remember when my first character got to Thunderhead Keep. Found it so hard that he was stuck there for three months. On the plus side, in that time he became very acquainted with Sorrow's Furnace

Never had an issue with Thunderhead Keep. Still remains one of my favorite missions, even if it is quite easy now.

Monk strike was pretty funny. Remember the synced monks always dancing in Grotto?

I made two or three single element elementalists so I wouldn't have to bother with those refund points every time I wanted to switch from fire to air.

Ahhhh 2005.

I remember when they nuked fire storm(changed the AI to run from it)--so all the ele's went to water --this was about the time of Sorrow Furnace...
(I am a little behind everyone as I only started in August of 05 instead of April)....

and the bleached shell farming---for that nice shield--think I still have one of those someplace-------

Started from day one...the refund point system gimped me because I never pay attention to the starting tips...so I took about 6 months off to play other games...came back and they'd changed it to the current system...that's pretty much when I started actually playing actively. Ended up deleting 5 of my characters before settling on a couple...warrior and monk. Built up my current stable over the last 3 years or so.

Ya know, I don't remember ecto being that high. However, I do remember when black dyes were some crazy price like 30k.
